Repository and Code Data
When you connect your GitHub account and select repositories to scan:
- We access repository metadata (name, URL, branch information)
- We temporarily access your code files during security scans
- We store scan results and identified vulnerabilities
- Important: We do NOT permanently store your source code. Code is accessed only during active scans and immediately discarded.
Tracking & Cookies Data
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
5. Use of Data
VibeAudit uses the collected data for various purposes:
- To provide and maintain our security scanning Service
- To authenticate users via OAuth providers
- To analyze code repositories for security vulnerabilities
- To generate security reports and recommendations

- To gather analysis or valuable information to improve our Service
- To monitor the usage of our Service
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues

6. Retention of Data
VibeAudit will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
Specific retention periods:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Scan results: Retained for the lifetime of your account or until you delete them
- Source code: NOT stored; accessed only during active scans
- Usage data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes
- Billing information: Retained as required by tax and accounting regulations
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance.
7. Transfer of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there.

- Protect and defend the rights or property of VibeAudit
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
- Protect against legal liability
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with service providers necessary to operate our Service (see Section 12).
9. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

13. Payments
We use third-party payment processors to process payments made through our Service. We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processor, whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

14. Links to Other Sites
Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us, including GitHub, Supabase, and other third-party services. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site.

15. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18.

If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

18. Data We Do NOT Collect or Store
For transparency, here's what we explicitly do NOT collect or store:
- Your complete source code (we only analyze it temporarily during scans)
- Supabase database credentials or passwords
- GitHub personal access tokens (these are securely encrypted and never logged)
- Credit card information (handled by our payment processor)
- Passwords (we use OAuth, no passwords are stored)
- Keystroke data or screen recordings
- Biometric data
