Welcome to VibeAudit. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website https://vibeaud.it and use our security scanning services.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Service.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This policy outlines what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

  • Service refers to the VibeAudit website and security scanning platform.

  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.

Personal Data

  • Full name (via OAuth authentication)
  • Profile picture (via OAuth providers)
  • GitHub account information (username, repository access)
  • Google account information (for authentication)
  • Supabase project metadata

Usage Data

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used. This Usage Data may include:

  • Your computer's Internet Protocol address (IP address)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages of our Service that you visit
  • Time and date of your visit
  • Time spent on pages
  • Unique device identifiers
  • Scan history and results
  • Number of applications monitored
  • Subscription tier and usage limits

Repository and Code Data

When you connect your GitHub account and select repositories to scan:

  • We access repository metadata (name, URL, branch information)
  • We temporarily access your code files during security scans
  • We store scan results and identified vulnerabilities
  • Important: We do NOT permanently store your source code. Code is accessed only during active scans and immediately discarded.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

5. Use of Data

VibeAudit uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our security scanning Service
  • To authenticate users via OAuth providers
  • To analyze code repositories for security vulnerabilities
  • To generate security reports and recommendations
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information to improve our Service
  • To monitor the usage of our Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues
  • To send you security alerts about critical vulnerabilities found in your applications
  • To process subscription payments and manage billing

6. Retention of Data

VibeAudit will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Specific retention periods:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Scan results: Retained for the lifetime of your account or until you delete them
  • Source code: NOT stored; accessed only during active scans
  • Usage data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes
  • Billing information: Retained as required by tax and accounting regulations

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance.

7. Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. VibeAudit will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

VibeAudit may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of VibeAudit
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
  • Protect against legal liability

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with service providers necessary to operate our Service (see Section 12).

9. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Security measures we implement:

  • Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Access controls and authentication for all administrative functions
  • Secure handling of GitHub and Supabase access tokens
  • No permanent storage of source code

  • The right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

11. California Privacy Protection Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding access to your personal information. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:

  • Say no to the sale of personal data

  • Request deletion of personal data

We employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We use third-party payment processors to process payments made through our Service. We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processor, whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

The payment processor we work with is Dodo Payments. Their Privacy Policy can be viewed at https://dodopayments.com/privacy.

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us, including GitHub, Supabase, and other third-party services. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site.

We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

15. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at hello@vibeaud.it. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

We will also notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service prior to the change becoming effective if the changes are significant.

18. Data We Do NOT Collect or Store

For transparency, here's what we explicitly do NOT collect or store:

  • Your complete source code (we only analyze it temporarily during scans)
  • Supabase database credentials or passwords
  • GitHub personal access tokens (these are securely encrypted and never logged)
  • Credit card information (handled by our payment processor)
  • Passwords (we use OAuth, no passwords are stored)
  • Keystroke data or screen recordings
  • Biometric data
